What's the oldest article of clothing you own? Bonus points if you show us a photo!
I've got several items of clothing dating from the very early 1990s and many from nearly as long ago. I tend to keep my clothes until they fall to pieces.
When was the last time you received a hand-written letter in the mail? Who sent it?
I think the only time I receive hand-written letters is when people enclose a note in a Christmas card to me. I've got a few friends with whom I don't want to completely lose touch, but the only contact we have is Christmas cards, so we usually write a note in the cards, but one or two people actually write on separate paper.
What's your favorite room in the house? Bonus points if you show us a photo!
One of favourite rooms in my new house is the lounge room which is really just the other end of the dining/computer area. (It's a very small house.) I like the whole place because it's so light and bright, but I'm not prepared to show a photo of my bedroom on here. This photo was taken before I had completely finished unpacking so the room is a bit messier than I normally keep it.
Who is the most famous person you've ever met?
I once met Cliff Richard (now Sir Cliff Richard) when I was volunteering as an usher at a concert he was giving in Perth and I also once got Rolf Harris's autograph. I'm not sure if either of those examples qualify as actually meeting the person, though. Also, I'm pretty sure that neither of them was known in the US.
What prevents your city/town from being the best place in the country to live?

The summers are too hot and dry. The rest of the year is great, though.
'Fess up: What do you do that's bad for the environment?
Sponsored by One Million Acts of Green brought to you by Cisco.
In the course of my normal life, I do a lot of little things to minimise my impact on the environment, but there's one thing I do that is very bad for it: I love to travel by plane. In fact, I'm going to London for ten days in August to see my daughter, and you can't get much worse than that for the environment.
Today is Name Your Poison Day. So make a decision and tell us: what's your poison?
Milo!
Why do you blog?

I think I'm an exhibitionist, because there's something that compels me to share my thoughts with anonymous people on the internet. I find that writing out my thoughts and feelings helps me to work through things sometimes, but even when I haven't got anything particular that I need to think about I still enjoy writing *something*, no matter how trivial. I also enjoy sharing photos of Australia with people who don't know much about this weird and wonderful country.
Littering, long showers, not recycling... What's your biggest pet peeve about the way some people (mis)treat our planet?

Oh, don't get me started. We live in an area which has basically no rain for at least 6 months of the year, although we do get a reasonable amount during the winter months. However, we've got permanent water restrictions which state that you can only water your garden twice a week on two designated days (based on your house number), and only between the hours of 6 pm and 9 am. It really really bugs me when I see people leaving sprinklers going for hours on end outside those hours, or washing down their driveway rather than sweeping it, or otherwise being careless with water. In my opinion, we should not even be allowed to water our gardens with sprinklers; everybody should just plant indigenous plants that are adapted to survive without water for half the year, which is what I've done.
What item will someone ALWAYS find in your kitchen pantry?
