Show us your favorite walking path.
This is not my favourite walking path, it's just one of the routes I follow when I walk for exercise. About three blocks after leaving my house, I come out onto a through road which looks like this:
On one side is my suburb, and on the other is a commercial/light industrial area. Crossing this road, I come to a very small pine plantation:
Coming out the other side, I walk through a long narrow grassed park and enter another residential neighbourhood, much more up-market than my own:
Here I enjoy walking past the spring flowers; this house has some magnificant roses. Behind and parallel to this street there is a PAW (Pedestrian Access Way):
I'm not sure why, but I find these fascinating. I think it's something to do with the fact that they're hidden between the fences separating the houses. At the end of the PAW and down a couple of blocks, I see this:
which strikes me as incongruous - I palm tree beside deciduous trees? Doesn't seem right somehow, but you see it everywhere here. Just down from here is a lake:
where I get sidetracked because I love taking water photos.
Half way along the lake is a new water feature which I hadn't seen before (it was under construction last time I walked this particular route):
Arriving at the far end of the lake, I'm surprised to see two black swans:
though I was disappointed that I couldn't get a better photo of them. Before leaving the lake, I have to take one last photo:
Finally I'm back in my own suburb, and here is a small local park which was recently built as part of neighbourhood renewal:
From here it's about ten minutes' walk to my home, and I've completed my 6 km circuit.
